History

The TWYSC was started in the fall of 1995. The first season saw 64 kids play at the U6-U8 & U10 levels of Rec soccer. Until the fall of 1998, the games were rotated between the Pittsboro Elementary School, North Salem Elementary School and Granville Wells Elementary School with three game weekends at each location throughout the season. Beginning in the fall of 1998, all games were played only at the Pittsboro Elementary School.

In the fall of 1997, Tri-West joined the WCSSF and fielded three teams (U12B, U12G and U14B). During the third season, one of the teams finally won a game (1-89 records over the first three seasons). (NOTE: TWYSC has come a long ways since its early days).

A Tri-West team (U12B) earned a berth in the WCSSF tournament's final four for the first time in the spring 2004. In the fall of 2004, both the U14B and U14G teams won the Tournament with the U12B team coming in 4th place (The U12G team played travel that season, so all three Tri-West Rec Plus teams placed in the tournament's final four. The Rec Plus teams played their Home Games at the Brownsburg Soccer Club fields for the F97 thru S99 seasons. The home games were moved to Danville Soccer Club fields for the F99 and S00 seasons. This was due to not having any USSF Certified Referees and no time to develop U12 and U14 fields.

Beginnning the F00 season, the Club added U12 field at the Pittsboro Elementary School complex and a U14 field at the Pittsboro Scamahorn Park. In 2007, the Pittsboro Primary School was built and the TWYSC fields were relocated behind the Tri-West High School. Starting in the summer of 2001, the WCSSF started a U25 short sided league (now it is just "Adult" open). Tri-West had two teams during the inaugeral season and at least one team very summer since. The Club became a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization in November 2000.
